About Me

Short Biography:
Howdy, weary web traveler. My name is Jessica Olin and, in case you haven't already gathered this from the title and content of the blog, I'm a librarian. Specifically, I'm the director of library services at a school in Western New York.

As for my past, I emerged from the incubator of my MLIS program into the wacky world of librarianship in 2003. My first professional position was at a tiny college in southern Vermont. While there I got a chance to try almost every aspect of academic librarianship. After that, I was in charge of instruction and outreach at the library at a slightly bigger college in Northeast Ohio. I was also lucky enough to have the opportunity to teach as an adjunct at the same school. More about that in a post I wrote a while ago. I moved onto a small, liberal arts college in Delaware after that. Now you can find me at a small community college in Western New York.
